NewsAfricaGh’s reports can confirmed that a man in his 50s, Kwesi Mekyew has been shot and killed in the head at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.
According to the eyewitness accounts, the suspect who wielded a gunshot, killed one person as a result of a chieftaincy dispute.
The report has it that the suspect, the Gyaasehen of Mankessim Nkusukum Division, Nana Badu I popularly identified as Ato Kyenam, intentionally shot the victim, Kwesi Mekyew, over his actions preventing sacrifice from being made to the gods at Old Nkusukum, a sub of Mankessim as the good people of Saltpond celebrate Odambea festival.
The suspect has been arrested by the Mankessim Police Command assisting in the investigation.
