President Mahama Receives A Bold Message From Kwame A Plus: “I Will Not Support You On This”

In a Facebook post on Monday, March 3, 2025, Kwame Asare Obeng, also known as Kwame A Plus, the member of parliament for Gomoa Central, made it clear that he would not be supporting John Mahama this time around, stating that while he respects religious obligations, he does not think the Hajj Village should be a priority at a time when Ghana is facing pressing economic and infrastructural challenges. He also noted that the Agenda 111 hospital projects, which are still unfinished and should be finished first.

The claim that taxpayer funds are not being used to fund the Hajj Village is one of the main points raised by government representatives. President John Mahama’s spokeswoman recently stated that no public monies are being utilized in the project, which is an airport terminal being built by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL). A Plus, on the other hand, denied this assertion, contending that GACL’s funds should still be regarded as public funds because it is a state-owned company. “The Ghana Airports Company does not belong to Asagyam Herbal Clinic,” he said cynically. Since it is a governmental enterprise, all of the money it utilizes comes from the state. The Hajj Village project was also likened by A Plus to the National Cathedral project, which was started by former President Akufo-Addo. He charged.
