Friday, 4th July 2025 Declared a Public Holiday

 

The Ministry of the Interior has announced that Friday, 4th July 2025 has been declared a statutory Public Holiday and is to be observed throughout the country.

In an official statement issued on Thursday, June 26, 2025, the Minister for the Interior, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak (MP), stated that although Tuesday, 1st July 2025 marks Republic Day, it is not observed as a public holiday under the current national calendar.

However, His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana, by Executive Instrument (E.I.), and in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays and Commemorative Days Act, 2021 (Act 601), has declared Friday, 4th July 2025 as a public holiday in commemoration of Republic Day.

The public is advised to take note and observe the day accordingly.
