Late Sofo Kojo’s Family Bars Wife From Attending Final Funeral Rites

The Royal Eduana Family of Abura Mpeseduadze and Kuntu Anomansa has formally notified Madam Gloria Essandoh, wife of the late Bishop Charles Kojo Acquah (popularly known as Sofo Kojo), to refrain from attending the final funeral rites of the deceased.
Bishop Acquah, who served as the General Overseer of The True Way Church of Jerusalem (TTWCJ), is set to be laid to rest with a final funeral ceremony scheduled for 21st to 23rd November 2025 at Mankessim-Akwakrom, on the premises of the True Way Church of Jerusalem.

According to the family, Madam Gloria has been instructed to stay away from the event—both directly and indirectly—due to unresolved issues that remain outstanding between her and the family following the bishop’s passing. Reports indicate that tensions heightened after the bereaved family allegedly disowned her status as the rightful spouse, a development that has been reflected in funeral announcements, posters, and other publicity materials, which conspicuously omit her name as the widow.
“Stay out of the final rites and avoid being present at the funeral grounds and its environs”, the statement emphasized.
The family explains that its decision stems from Madam Gloria’s alleged refusal to honour a previous invitation extended to her to resolve misunderstandings after the death of Bishop Acquah. As a result, they insist she must not appear at the funeral grounds or engage in any activities connected to the final rites.
