Central Region: Unidentified Mutilated Body Discovered Near Ekumfi Techiman; Police Launch Investigation

An unidentified mutilated body with severed parts has been discovered between Eyisam and Ekumfi Techiman in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region, sparking concern among residents and authorities.
The grim discovery was made around 6:25 AM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, after local authorities were alerted to the scene by community members.
The Assemblyman for the Obontser Electoral Area, Mr Abdul Razak, confirmed the incident, stating that the state of the remains made immediate identification impossible.

According to him, the body showed severe mutilation, leaving no identifiable features at the scene. The remains have since been transported and deposited at the Cape Coast morgue for preservation and further forensic examination.
Security agencies are expected to launch investigations to determine the circumstances surrounding the death, including possible foul play.
Meanwhile, residents in the affected communities have been urged to remain calm, monitor their surroundings, and report any missing persons to the police to assist in identification efforts.
Authorities are also calling on the public to provide any information that may aid ongoing investigations into the disturbing discovery.
