The National Patriotic Party (NPP) has postponed its Constituency Executive Elections in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa (AOB) Constituency following a court injunction secured by party member Hon. Eric Kwesi Taylor.

The elections, which were scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Breman Kuntanase Community Centre, have been put on hold until further notice pending the resolution of the legal challenge.

In an official statement issued on Friday, July 10, 2026, the Secretary of the Constituency Elections Committee, Hon. Bismark Baisie Nkum, informed all qualified candidates, delegates, and party members of the postponement.

According to the statement, the decision was necessitated by the injunction, making it impossible for the party to proceed with the electoral process as originally planned.

“The Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency wishes to inform all qualified candidates, delegates and party members that the Constituency Executive Elections scheduled for Saturday, 11th July 2026, at the Breman Kuntanase Community Centre, have been postponed until further notice.”

The Elections Committee urged all delegates and stakeholders to remain calm and await further communication from the party regarding a new date for the elections.

“All delegates and stakeholders are kindly advised to await further official communication from the Party regarding the rescheduled date for the elections.”

The committee also expressed regret over the inconvenience caused by the postponement and thanked party members for their patience and cooperation.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience, understanding, and continued cooperation.”

The postponement adds to a series of legal disputes affecting the NPP’s ongoing constituency executive elections in parts of the country, as aggrieved party members continue to challenge aspects of the electoral process through the courts.
