The Saltpond Municipal Hospital in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region is appealing to the general public to help locate the family or relatives of an unidentified man who was admitted to the facility in an unconscious condition.
According to hospital authorities and officials from the Social Welfare Department, the man, believed to be in his 50s, was found unconscious at the Mankessim Ansah Lorry Park and rushed to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Saltpond Municipal Hospital for emergency medical treatment. He has remained unconscious since his admission, making it impossible for medical staff to establish his identity or obtain information about his family. Despite sustained efforts by the hospital and the Social Welfare Department to trace his relatives, all attempts have so far proved unsuccessful.
Speaking on the matter, the Acting Medical Superintendent of Saltpond Municipal Hospital is Dr. John Moses Wireku, expressed concern over the patient’s condition, noting that the man remains unconscious and is unable to provide any information that could help identify him.
He said the hospital urgently needs the assistance of the public to trace the man’s family so they can be informed of his condition and participate in decisions regarding his care.
The Officer in Charge of the Accident and Emergency Ward, Mr Dominic Adu Brew, is therefore urging anyone who may recognise the patient or have information that could lead to the identification of his relatives to visit the Saltpond Municipal Hospital or contact the Accident and Emergency Unit immediately.
Hospital management emphasised that prompt public assistance would greatly support the patient’s ongoing treatment and help reunite him with his family.
