Philanthropist Rescues Otsir Sanitation Project with Building Materials

A Ghanaian philanthropist, Mr. Obo Quansah, Chief Executive Officer of OQ Movement, has intervened to support the completion of a stalled 10-seater toilet and double-bathroom project in Otsir in the Mfantsiman Municipality of the Central Region.
The project, which was initiated by former Member of Parliament for the area, Hon. Ophelia Mensah, in collaboration with residents, had faced delays until Mr. Quansah responded to an appeal highlighting the developmental challenges confronting the community.

Following the appeal, the philanthropist provided essential building materials and modern toilet seats to facilitate the completion of the sanitation facility.
Otsir, an ancient Etsii community located near Kormantse and Abandze, has long faced challenges with basic infrastructure and social amenities.
Handover of Materials
The items were received on behalf of the traditional leadership by Ebusuapayin Kwame Adu, Chief Linguist to Odzikro Nana Munumkum Gyebi Abbam III, during a brief presentation ceremony at the project site.
Expressing gratitude for the intervention, Ebusuapayin Adu said the support would provide significant relief to residents and contribute to ongoing efforts to improve sanitation in the community.

He described the intervention as an important step in addressing some of the pressing developmental needs of Otsir and expressed appreciation to Mr. Quansah for responding to the community’s appeal.
Call for Further Developmental Support
While welcoming the support for the sanitation project, Ebusuapayin Adu appealed to the government, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), philanthropists and other development partners to extend assistance to Otsir.
According to him, the community urgently needs support to rehabilitate its deplorable road network, upgrade its community centre, establish an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) laboratory for the local school and construct a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound.
He said addressing these needs would significantly improve education, healthcare, sanitation and general living conditions for residents.
Community leaders expressed hope that the intervention would mark the beginning of increased development support for Otsir and help unlock further opportunities for the historic community.
They also urged other individuals and organisations to emulate the gesture by supporting projects that directly improve the living conditions of residents.
