As the National Democratic Congress (NDC) prepares for its 2026 Constituency Executives Elections, attention is turning to the various positions within the party’s constituency structures, including the contest for Youth Organizer in the Mfantseman Constituency.
Evans Mensah, a party activist and youth advocate seeking the position, has outlined a five-point vision focused on youth empowerment, grassroots mobilisation, digital engagement, skills development and stronger organisational structures.
His campaign message places particular emphasis on creating practical platforms through which young people can participate in party activities, develop their skills, access opportunities and contribute to grassroots mobilisation.
According to his campaign vision, the proposed agenda is built around five key areas:
1. Youth Database
Evans Mensah proposes the creation of a comprehensive and continuously updated database of young people across the Mfantseman Constituency.
The proposed database would capture information on young people’s skills, interests, aspirations and challenges, with the aim of providing a clearer understanding of the constituency’s youth population.
His campaign says such a system would help the youth wing identify talent, improve communication and facilitate connections between young people and relevant opportunities.
2. Campus and Ghetto Outreach
Another major component of his campaign agenda is increased engagement with young people in educational institutions and communities.
The proposed campus and community outreach programme would focus on organising, educating and mobilising young people through regular engagements.
The campaign argues that sustained interaction with young people in their respective environments would help strengthen grassroots structures and create greater opportunities for participation in constituency activities.
3. Sports and Entertainment Mobilisation
Sports, music and the creative arts also feature prominently in Evans Mensah’s proposed youth mobilisation strategy.
His campaign intends to use football tournaments, entertainment activities and other youth-oriented programmes as platforms for bringing young people together.
Beyond recreation, the campaign sees these activities as opportunities for community engagement, political education, social interaction and grassroots mobilisation.
4. Social Media War Room
Recognising the growing importance of digital communication, Evans Mensah is proposing the establishment of a dedicated social media coordination structure, described by his campaign as a “Social Media War Room.”
The initiative is intended to strengthen the youth wing’s presence across social media platforms by promoting the party’s messages, communicating activities and engaging young people in the digital space.
His campaign says the proposed structure would also encourage young people to contribute ideas, communicate effectively online and respond to misinformation through factual and creative messaging.
5. Skills and Job Connection
Skills development and access to employment opportunities form another key pillar of the proposed agenda.
Evans Mensah’s campaign says it intends to support training initiatives and build connections between young people, businesses, industries and other organisations that can provide employment, apprenticeship and skills-development opportunities.
The objective, according to the campaign, is to create pathways through which young people can develop their abilities and connect those skills to practical opportunities.
A Youth-Focused Campaign Agenda
Taken together, the five proposals present a campaign agenda centred on strengthening youth participation, improving grassroots engagement and creating platforms for young people to contribute to the activities of the NDC in Mfantseman.
As the constituency elections approach, candidates contesting the Youth Organizer position are expected to present their respective programmes, priorities and organisational strategies to delegates.
For Evans Mensah, his campaign is placing youth empowerment, grassroots mobilisation, digital communication, sports and entertainment engagement, and skills development at the centre of his proposed vision for the constituency’s youth wing.
