Final funeral rites for the late Opanin Andrews Kwame Nkum, father of renowned sports journalist Samuel Obeng, popularly known as Bra K. Obeng, have been scheduled for October 23 to 27, 2026, at New Edubiase in the Ashanti Region.
Samuel Obeng, who works with Mankessim-based Obrumankoma FM in the Mfantseman Municipality, is expected to join family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers to bid farewell to his late father.
The deceased, who passed away at the age of 102, was a respected traditional figure who served as the former Dwantoahene of Nfantekuo in New Edubiase.

His remarkable lifespan marks a significant milestone for his family and loved ones, who will gather to celebrate his life and honour his memory during the funeral ceremonies.
The family has invited members of the public, friends, sympathisers and well-wishers to join them in mourning the deceased and paying their last respects.

According to the funeral announcement, the ceremonies will take place over five days, from Friday, October 23, to Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

Wake-Keeping: Friday, October 23, 2026, at Future Road, near Kristo Asafo, New Edubiase.
Laying in State: Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Future Road, near Kristo Asafo, New Edubiase.
Funeral Rites: Saturday, October 24, 2026, at the Methodist Basic School, New Edubiase.
Thanksgiving Service: Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Family Gathering: Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at the New Edubiase Market Place.
The designated dress code for the funeral is black and white.
