NPP Is Ready To Cooperate With Every Investigation, But Will Resist Political Harassment

The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, has assured the public that the party is ready to fully cooperate with any state investigative body.

His comments come after the recent raid on the residence of former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.

Addressing the press on Thursday, Mr Boakye emphasised that NPP members, including former officials and CEOs, are law-abiding citizens who will cooperate fully with authorities in any investigation.

“We are ready to cooperate with any state institution, whether law enforcement or other investigative bodies,” he said. “Our members and former officials will fully support any investigation. The NPP believes in the rule of law and is committed to transparency.”

However, Mr Boakye also made it clear that the party will not tolerate political harassment. He strongly condemned the raid on Mr Ofori-Atta’s home, calling it an unfortunate and unacceptable event.

“What happened at Mr Ofori-Atta’s house is very unfortunate,” he remarked. “We are not in the jungle, and such actions should not be occurring in a civilised society. This raid was uncalled for and unacceptable.”

The NPP National Organiser also criticised the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) for suggesting that the raid may have been staged, based on intelligence received.

“To suggest that the incident was staged is simply outrageous,” Mr Boakye said. “What kind of intelligence is the OSP gathering if they are making such claims without properly reviewing the evidence?”

He pointed to CCTV footage that clearly showed a group of men in uniform, with a man he identified as Richard Jakpa leading the team.

While the NPP continues to express its willingness to cooperate with investigations, the party remains firm in its stance against any form of political victimisation or harassment, he noted.

“We will not be subjected to any form of political harassment,” Mr Boakye affirmed. “Our commitment to the rule of law remains steadfast.”
