#GPL 2024/25: Hearts Of Oak To Be Sanctioned For Allowing Fans To Celebrate In Safe Zone

Accra Hearts of Oak have been charged by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Disciplinary Committee for allegedly allowing unauthorized persons access to the safe zone.

The incident, according to the GFA Prosecutor, occurred during Saturday night’s 2-0 win over Young Apostles at the University of Ghana Stadium, Legon.

Saturday’s was the first league match since early February.

The Ghana Premier League was suspended for five weeks following the fatal stabbing of Francis “Nana Pooley” Frimpong at Kotoko’s match away to Nsoatreman F.C.

Pooley, who was a life-long supporter of Asante Kotoko, was since buried on March 6, 2025.

Before its resumption, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) announced enhanced matchday protocols, ostensibly to tighten existing protocols.

Last week the Ghana Police Service also announced regional safety and security officers as part of measures to improve security at football matches.
