Asabee Calls For Unity Within NPP Fraternity

Former Minister for Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs and aspiring National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Stephen Asamoah Boateng, popularly known as Asabee, has made a passionate appeal for unity within the party.

Speaking at the NPP’s Annual National Delegates Conference held in Accra, under the theme “Rebuilding Together With Our Values,” Hon. Asamoah Boateng urged all members of the party to put aside internal differences and rally together ahead of the 2028 general elections.

“The events of the last election are behind us. We must focus on the future and work together as one solid and united force to defeat the NDC in 2028,” he emphasized.

According to Asabee, internal cohesion and discipline remain critical to the party’s electoral success. He underscored the importance of fostering a spirit of teamwork and called on all party members, from the grassroots to the top leadership, to renew their commitment to the ideals of the NPP.

Touching on proposed amendments to the party’s constitution, Hon. Asamoah Boateng expressed optimism that these changes would strengthen the party’s democratic structures. He specifically highlighted the expansion of the electoral college, particularly the inclusion of more polling station officers, as a step in the right direction.

“Empowering the base of the party is key. The more we involve our people at the grassroots level, the stronger and more representative our party becomes,” he stated.

Also speaking at the event was Hon. Catherine Afeku, an aspiring National Women’s Organiser of the NPP. She welcomed the proposed amendments and advocated for greater participation of women in the party’s electoral processes.

“Women who hold positions within the party should be allowed to vote in the selection of female leaders. It is important that we promote fairness and inclusion,” she noted.

Hon. Afeku further called for unity behind majority decisions taken at the conference, urging delegates to prioritize the collective good of the party over individual interests.

The conference brought together delegates and stakeholders from across the country to deliberate on the way forward for the NPP as it positions itself for future electoral victory.
