ARCC Mourns Late Kusaase Chief, Outlines Security Measures Following Fatal Shooting
The Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) extends its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the entire Kusaase community on the untimely passing of Alhaji Abdul-Malik Azenbge, Chief of Kusaase. His tragic death has left a deep void.
In light of the fatal shooting incident that claimed the life of the late chief at Asewase on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, the Ashanti Regional Security Council (REGSEC) convened an emergency meeting on Wednesday, 24th July 2025 to evaluate the security implications and outline immediate response measures to safeguard lives and maintain public order.
Following deliberations, REGSEC resolved to implement the following urgent directives:
1. No motorbikes shall be permitted on the roads after 7:00pm until further notice.
2. The use of unlicensed motorbikes or motorbikes without lights is strictly prohibited.
3. The ongoing inter-tribal football competition is to be suspended with immediate effect until further notice.
4. No motorbike rider is permitted to wear a smock until further notice, as it has become an avenue for suspects to conceal weapons.
In addition, a heightened security presence—comprising both Police and Military personnel—will be deployed to identified hotspots to maintain peace and protect residents.
The REGSEC assures the public of its unwavering dedication to upholding law and order and will leave no stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for the late Alhaji Abdul-Malik Azenbge. The Council is working closely with national security agencies to apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.
Citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the security services by providing credible information that may lead to the arrest of the culprits. The security agencies remain open and ready to engage with the public in a transparent and accountable manner.
