Governor of the Bank of Ghana (BoG), Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, has been awarded the prestigious Policy Impact Award by the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).
The recognition was on April 10, 2026, during GUTA’s Inauguration of New Executives and Awards Night held in Accra, where industry stakeholders gathered to celebrate leadership and performance within Ghana’s business ecosystem.
GUTA singled out Dr Asiama’s stewardship in recent months, highlighting his role in steering policies that have contributed to easing inflationary pressures and restoring relative stability to the Ghanaian cedi which are key concerns for the country’s trading community.
The award was received on his behalf by Bernard Otabil, Director of Communications at the central bank and Aimee Quashie, Secretary to the Bank who underscored the Bank’s continued commitment to prudent monetary policy and stakeholder engagement.
For traders, who are often the first to feel the impact of currency volatility and price instability, the acknowledgment of the central bank’s efforts signals renewed optimism about the trading environment.
