Desist from Drug Abuse — Ajumako Apagyahen Cautions Youth

The Apagyahen of the Ajumako Traditional Area, Amb Nana Sultan Adamu, has called on the youth of Ajumako to stay away from drugs to safeguard the future of the community.

Addressing the gathering at this year’s Ahobaa Festival — which commemorates Agya Ahor’s sacrifice to the Fante people — Nana Sultan Adamu warned that drug abuse among the youth poses a serious threat to the area’s development.

The festival was held under the theme “Educating the Youth through Tradition and Culture.”

In his speech, the Apagyahen also urged the youth to show respect to their elders, describing it as a vital tool for peace and development. He stressed that charity begins at home, adding that children who are not properly guided at home are more likely to exhibit bad behaviour in society.

He repeated his appeal to the youth to avoid drugs, reiterating that the future of Ajumako depends on disciplined and responsible young people.

Aboradze Ebusuapanyin, who also serves as the Assemblyman for Ahenbrom, Nana Eghan Mankata, echoed similar sentiments, advising the youth to avoid activities that jeopardise their future and to show due respect to their parents.

For his part, Kona Ebusuapanyin, Nana Kwaku Yeku, shared the history behind the celebration of the Ahobaa Festival.
