Ghana’s senior women’s national football team, the Black Queens, have arrived in Benslimane, Morocco, to commence their final preparations ahead of the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

The team landed on Tuesday, June 18, and will spend approximately 14 days in camp, focusing on tactical drills and team cohesion under the guidance of head coach Kim Lars Björkegren.

While not all players have reported to camp yet, the technical team is expecting the full squad to assemble in the coming days.

The Black Queens have been drawn into Group C alongside defending champions South Africa, Mali, and Tanzania—making it one of the most competitive groups in the tournament.

During their stay in Benslimane, the team is scheduled to play a series of friendly matches to fine-tune their strategies and assess their readiness.

With Coach Björkegren at the helm, the Black Queens are aiming to make a strong start and ultimately secure their first-ever WAFCON title. The tournament kicks off on July 5, with the final set for July 28.
