National Chairman hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Hon. Boakye Agyarko, has appealed to party faithful who have, for one reason or another, left the party to return and help rebuild its structures ahead of the party’s future political activities.
Mr. Agyarko made the appeal when he visited Central Region party and constituency executives as part of his engagements to seek their support for his bid to become the next National Chairman of the NPP.
Addressing delegates and party executives, Hon. Boakye Agyarko reiterated his decision to contest the NPP National Chairmanship race, stressing the need for unity, reconciliation and collective effort to strengthen the party.
He called on members who had become disillusioned or distanced themselves from the NPP for various reasons to reconsider their decision and “come back home” to contribute to the party’s rebuilding process.
According to him, every committed party member has a role to play in strengthening the NPP and positioning it to regain the confidence of Ghanaians.
He urged party supporters to put aside their differences and work together to restore unity within the party, saying their collective efforts would be crucial to demonstrating to Ghanaians that the NPP is reorganising and preparing for the future.
Meanwhile, Cape Coast North Constituency Chairman, Mr. Kojo Arhin, speaking on behalf of the constituency executives, urged party delegates to choose a National Chairman based on wisdom, experience and the ability to deliver, rather than considerations such as hometown or regional affiliation.
He encouraged delegates to critically assess the qualities and leadership capabilities of the various candidates before making their choice, emphasising the importance of selecting a person capable of effectively carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
