Captain Smart Cries Out: “Mankessim Is Suffering!” — Calls for Urgent Government Action

Renowned broadcaster and outspoken social commentator, Blessed Godsbrain Smart (Captain Smart), has voiced deep concern over the deteriorating socio-economic conditions in Mankessim ok n the Mfantseman Municipality, a major commercial hub in Ghana’s Central Region.

In a passionate appeal, Captain Smart lamented what he described as years of neglect and stagnation in the once-vibrant town — a place celebrated for its rich history, thriving market, and entrepreneurial energy.

According to him, the current state of Mankessim reflects a broader failure of Mankessim’s progress is being hindered by backbiting leadership — instead of collaborating, leaders are busy attacking each other in private.

He bemoaned the poor market infrastructure, high unemployment rate, inadequate social amenities among others, saying these challenges are crippling local businesses and making life unbearable for residents.

“Mankessim deserves better. The people here are hardworking, but they have been abandoned. The government must act now to restore hope and dignity to this town,” he emphasized.

He also stressed the urgent need for the construction of an ultra-modern hospital in Mankessim to improve healthcare delivery, noting that residents often travel long distances to access quality medical services.

In a stern warning, the media personality condemned those allegedly sabotaging development efforts in the area, urging them to prioritize the town’s progress over personal or political interests.

“Those who are fighting against development in Mankessim must stop. This town deserves transformation, not frustration,” he stated firmly.

Captain Smart called on the Ministry of Roads and Highways and the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to move swiftly to rehabilitate key roads, improve sanitation, and roll out sustainable development projects to revive the local economy.

Captain Smart’s heartfelt appeal has since gained traction on social media, with many Ghanaians echoing his concerns and calling for immediate government intervention not only in Mankessim but also in other neglected communities nationwide.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to advocacy and development, clarifying that while he has no intention of contesting for a parliamentary seat soon, he remains determined to use his voice to champion accountability and lasting progress for his people.
