The Omankrado of Gomoa Ajumako Ansa, Nana Sika Kumi I, has appealed to the government, non-governmental organisations, corporate bodies, and benevolent individuals to come to the aid of the community with critical development projects.

Speaking to the media during a community outreach programme organised by the Omankrado Hemaa, Nana Sika Kumi I outlined some of the major infrastructural challenges facing the town. He said the community urgently needs a CHPS compound, improved road network, and other basic social amenities to enhance the well-being of residents.

According to him, although work has begun on a CHPS compound, the project is still at an early stage and requires support to be completed. He also lamented the poor state of the road leading to the community, describing it as deplorable and a major hindrance to economic activities, healthcare access, and general movement.

“We are doing our best as a community, but we cannot do it alone. We are appealing to government, NGOs and all well-meaning Ghanaians to come to our aid so we can improve the living conditions of our people,” Nana Sika Kumi I said.

He further advised the youth to stay away from drug abuse, warning that it destroys lives, undermines productivity, and threatens the future of the community.

The event, which was organised by Nana Kumwaa Nkrumah I, brought together adults and children, who were treated to a party and presented with sanitary pads, clothing, and food items as part of efforts to support vulnerable members of the community.

In her address, Nana Kumwaa Nkrumah I encouraged young girls to dress decently and respect themselves, saying the increasing trend of wearing clothing resembling underwear in public was inappropriate and unacceptable.

“How you dress speaks a lot about who you are. Young women must dress well and carry themselves with dignity so they can bring honour to themselves and their families,” she advised.

She explained that the outreach was part of her commitment to uplift the people of Gomoa Ajumako Ansa, promote good morals, and provide practical support to those in need.

The programme ended with renewed calls for development partners and authorities to pay attention to the pressing needs of the community and help accelerate its growth.
