The Central Regional Campaign Coordinator for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s team, Hon. Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, has appealed to delegates in the region to once again rally behind the former Vice President and 2024 presidential candidate, giving him the opportunity to lead both the party and the country.
According to him, Dr Bawumia possesses the competence, vision, and leadership qualities needed to transform Ghana if entrusted with the presidency.
Hon. Asiamah made these remarks on the first day of Dr Bawumia’s campaign tour in Cape Coast. Speaking to the media after engaging with delegates, he emphasized that Dr Bawumia has the capacity to propel Ghana forward. He further highlighted that Bawumia’s visionary policies have already set an example globally, citing Ghana’s national digital registration system as a model now being studied by other countries.
He urged the media to play a constructive role in shaping Ghana’s democracy and appealed to members of the campaign team to eschew insults and negative campaigning, stressing that Dr Bawumia represents discipline and respect in politics.
On his part, the Chairman of Dr Bawumia’s Media Campaign Team, Nana Akomea, reiterated that among the five aspirants contesting for the NPP flagbearership, Dr Bawumia stands out because of his good character and proven record in leadership and governance.
Nana Akomea further pointed out that Ghana’s presidential history shows a pattern of leaders handing over to their strongest challengers, suggesting that Bawumia is well-positioned to assume the presidency when given the nod.
