EC Sets Tuesday, December 30 for Kpandai Parliamentary Rerun

The Electoral Commission (EC) has officially scheduled Tuesday, 30th December 2025 for the rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency.
This follows the ruling of the Tamale High Court on Monday, 24th November 2025, which ordered the Commission to organise a fresh parliamentary poll in the constituency. The directive came after legal proceedings challenging the validity of the 2024 Parliamentary results for the area.
In line with constitutional requirements, the EC also received formal notification from the Clerk to Parliament on Tuesday, 9th December 2025, informing the Commission that the Kpandai seat had become vacant. With this communication, the vacancy was officially recognised, paving the way for the conduct of the rerun.
According to the EC: “The Electoral Commission will hold a rerun of the Parliamentary Election in the Kpandai Constituency on Tuesday, 30th December 2025.”
The Commission further clarified that: “The rerun of the Kpandai Constituency Parliamentary Election will be conducted for only the three (3) candidates who contested the 2024 Parliamentary Election in the said Constituency.”

This means no new candidates will be added to the ballot, and the rerun will strictly feature the same contenders who participated in the previous election.
The EC is expected to release additional operational details in the coming days as preparations advance for the rerun.
