The Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, Hon. Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwainoe, has engaged traditional leaders, residents and other stakeholders over the upcoming reconstruction of the Agyankwa, Imuna-Twa road network in the Ekumfi District of the Central Region.

The engagement formed part of efforts to ensure effective collaboration among the contractor, traditional authorities, residents and local government authorities as work progresses on the long-awaited road project.

The communities expected to benefit from the project include Agyankwa, Srafa Mpoano, Imuna, Adansi, Twa and Essuohyia, among others.

The road network has been a major concern for residents over the years, with the poor condition of roads and bridges affecting transportation, movement of goods and services, and the general socio-economic activities of communities in the area.

During the engagement, the contractor for the Time Line Company, expressed its readiness and commitment to completing the project within the stipulated contractual timeframe.

The contractor also assured stakeholders that the necessary efforts would be made to ensure that the works are executed to the required standards and completed within schedule.

The traditional authorities, popularly known as Nananom, pledged their full support for the contractor and the project. They also appealed to residents and community members to cooperate with the contractor and protect construction materials, tools, equipment and other properties for the project.

According to the traditional leaders, protecting the project materials and equipment would help prevent unnecessary delays and ensure the smooth execution of the works.

Residents across the affected communities have also expressed appreciation to the government, the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive for what they described as a timely intervention to address the deteriorating roads and bridges in the area.

They said the reconstruction of the roads would improve accessibility, enhance transportation and create better opportunities for economic activities within the affected communities.

Residents further expressed hope that the project would be completed on schedule to bring lasting relief to commuters, farmers, traders, students and other road users who have endured the challenges posed by the poor road network.

The engagement ended with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to work together to ensure the successful completion and protection of the project for the benefit of the people of Ekumfi.
