Friday, 6th June 2025 Declared A Public Holiday

The Ministry of the Interior has declared Friday, 6th June 2025 a Statutory Public Holiday across the country in observance of Eid-Ul-Adha.

Eid-Ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar. It commemorates the profound act of faith by Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who demonstrated unwavering obedience to God by preparing to sacrifice his son. The occasion is traditionally observed through congregational prayers, acts of charity, and the sharing of food with family, friends, and the less privileged.

In light of this significant occasion, the government encourages all citizens—especially members of the Muslim community—to observe the day with solemnity, unity, and mutual respect.

All institutions, organizations, and the general public are respectfully advised to take note and make the necessary arrangements to mark the holiday appropriately.
