The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, together with members of the association’s regional leadership, joined the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Gold Board, Sammy Gyamfi, in Kumasi to observe the one-week memorial of his late father-in-law and to express their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.

Leading figures of the association who were present at the solemn ceremony included the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Kofi Adu Domfeh; the Regional Secretary, Beatrice Spio-Garbrah; as well as other prominent media personalities.

The memorial brought together dignitaries from across the political divide, sympathisers, members of the media fraternity, and the general public, all gathered to mourn with the family and pay their respects.

The deceased, Mr. Andrews Kwame Amankwah, was reportedly killed in a robbery attack at Ohwim Tigo Junction in the Ashanti Region, an incident that sent shockwaves through the community and beyond.

The Inspector-General of Police and the Ashanti Regional Police Command have since apprehended the suspects, who are currently facing legal proceedings.

The family has scheduled May 30, 2026, to bury the late Andrews Kwame Amankwa.
