The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has released its latest list of 100 unrecognised universities and tertiary institutions as of August 28, 2026.
According to a public notice issued by GTEC on August 28, the institutions have not been recognised by the Commission, raising quality assurance and accreditation concerns.
GTEC has therefore urged members of the public, students and prospective applicants to exercise due diligence before enrolling in any of the institutions or accepting certificates purportedly issued by them.
The Commission further advised the public to verify the accreditation status of tertiary institutions before making decisions regarding admissions, programmes or qualifications.
The 100 institutions listed by GTEC are:
