The National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Organiser, Joseph Yammin, has declared his intention to seek re-election to retain his position in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
Mr Yammin announced his decision at a press conference on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, where he disclosed that he had picked up and submitted his nomination forms and paid the required fees.
“We are here to announce to you that we have picked nomination forms to contest the upcoming national elections. I am maintaining my position as the National Organiser of the party to go another term,” he said.
He said he had completed the nomination process and was awaiting confirmation of the other aspirants who would contest the position ahead of the elections scheduled for December 19, 2026.
“I am waiting to know my opponent and will be ready to go into battle on the 19th of December,” Mr Yammin stated.
He further disclosed that the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, had also picked up his nomination forms, paid the required fees and submitted his nomination to contest in the upcoming elections.
According to Mr Yammin, the party was expected to know the identities of the other aspirants by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, a development he said would help shape their campaign strategies.
“So we’ll get to know by 5 p.m. who our opponents will be, and that will inform us as to the strategy we take into the elections,” he said.
The NDC is scheduled to hold its national executive elections on December 19, 2026, as part of preparations to elect party officers who will steer its affairs.
