President John Dramani Mahama is to co-chair the High-Level segment of the global One Health Summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, positioning Ghana at the centre of international efforts to strengthen health systems and tackle emerging global threats.
The summit will bring together world leaders, health ministers, and global experts to advance coordinated solutions on public health, sustainable food systems, and disease prevention, reflecting growing urgency around cross-border health challenges.
His first will take place during a session on global health architecture, co-chaired by Macron and Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organisation.
That session will focus on reforms to global health systems and is expected to culminate in the endorsement of a political declaration aimed at strengthening international cooperation on health.
Mahama’s second keynote will open the High-Level segment for Heads of State and government, where he is expected to outline Ghana’s vision for global health security.
His address will highlight the country’s approach to tackling emerging health threats through collaborative, cross-sector strategies.
