Man in His 40s Found Dead Under Mysterious Circumstances in Mankessim

A man believed to be in his 40s has been found dead under unclear circumstances at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

According to initial reports, the deceased—identified only as Abeao—was a well-known truck pusher in the area. His sudden and unexplained death has left residents in shock, with many raising concerns about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

An eyewitness, Joe Obolo, a taxi driver, confirmed the development to NewsAfricaGhana, stating that the deceased was a familiar figure in the community due to his line of work.

“The deceased was widely known here as a truck pusher. His death has come as a surprise to many of us,” he said.

The body was reportedly discovered along the Mankessim–Cape Coast road, although details surrounding the discovery remain sketchy.

The Assembly Member for the New Nkusukum Electoral Area, Ali Abubakar—popularly known as Champion Sorin—visited the scene after receiving the report and subsequently confirmed the incident based on information gathered.

He has since officially lodged a complaint with the Mankessim District Police Command and informed the family of the deceased.

Authorities have been notified, and investigations are currently underway to determine the exact cause of death. The body is expected to be conveyed to a nearby mortuary for preservation and autopsy.

Meanwhile, residents are urging the police to expedite investigations to bring clarity to the situation and help calm growing anxiety within the community.
