
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Mfantseman, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, popularly known as Mfantseman KK, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving access to quality education through strategic collaboration with the Mfantseman Municipal Education Directorate.
As part of efforts to address challenges confronting the education sector, the MCE, together with officials from the Education Directorate, held a comprehensive engagement with teachers across all eight educational circuits within the municipality. The meeting provided a platform for teachers and educational stakeholders to discuss pressing issues affecting teaching and learning and propose practical solutions to improve educational outcomes.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with NewsAfricaGhana, Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah disclosed that the engagement enabled authorities to identify and document key challenges facing schools across the municipality, many of which require urgent intervention.
According to him, some of the major concerns raised include inadequate mono and dual desks, insufficient hexagonal chairs, shortages of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and equipment, infrastructure deficits, and a lack of adequate teaching staff in some schools.
“The engagement has given us a clearer understanding of the challenges facing our schools. We are committed to addressing these issues to ensure that every child in Mfantseman has access to a conducive learning environment and quality education,” the MCE stated.
Hon. Acquah further revealed that the Assembly has already earmarked portions of its Common Fund to support critical educational infrastructure projects across the municipality. These include the construction of a six-unit classroom block at Akyefo-Nakesedo, a three-unit classroom block at Towoboase, and a two-unit kindergarten block at Nkramofokrom, among several other interventions aimed at improving educational infrastructure.
He assured teachers and residents that procurement processes for desks and other essential educational materials are underway, adding that the items will soon be distributed to beneficiary schools to enhance teaching and learning.
The MCE emphasized that education remains a top priority for the Assembly, noting that investments in school infrastructure and learning resources are crucial to improving academic performance and ensuring equal educational opportunities for all children in the municipality.
