Mfantseman Sanitation Exercise Deemed a Success as Paramount Queenmother and MCE Lead Cleanup

The Mfantseman Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Eric Stanley Acquah, has described the latest sanitation exercise in the municipality as a resounding success. The initiative forms part of President John Dramani Mahama’s National Sanitation Day programme, under which the performance of Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) is partly assessed.
Residents of Mankessim have commended the MCE and the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly for their proactive measures, particularly the swift desilting of gutters in Mankessim and surrounding communities.
The exercise, held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, saw the participation of several high-profile personalities and stakeholders. Leading the charge was Her Royal Majesty Nana Dr. Ama Amissah III, Paramount Queenmother of Mankessim, accompanied by her elders. They were joined by Municipal Coordinating Director Mr Justice Amoah, health officers, officials from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Zoomlion Ghana staff, clergy, political leaders, security officers, traders and other community members.
Addressing the media after the event, Hon. Stanley Acquah applauded all participants for their commitment, unity, and dedication towards keeping Mankessim clean. He emphasized that the success of such initiatives depends on the active involvement of both leaders and residents.
However, the MCE expressed concern over the non-compliance of certain business owners. He noted that several shops were locked during the exercise due to the refusal of their owners to adhere to the Municipal Assembly’s directives. Those found in violation will face the appropriate penalties in line with local by-laws.
Hon. Acquah reiterated the Assembly’s commitment to sustaining regular sanitation drives, ensuring that Mfantseman remains a clean, healthy, and environmentally friendly municipality.
