Minority Demands Immediate Reinstatement of Dismissed BoG Staff

The Minority in Parliament is calling for the immediate reinstatement of approximately 100 employees recently dismissed by the Bank of Ghana (BoG), describing the action as unlawful and a violation of labour rights.
According to the caucus, the terminations were carried out without due process or justifiable cause, contravening Ghana’s labour laws and infringing on the rights of the affected workers.
Speaking at a press briefing on Tuesday, June 24, the Member of Parliament for Savelugu, Hajia Fatahia Abdul-Aziz, condemned the Central Bank’s actions as unjust and unacceptable.
“The Bank of Ghana must restore every single dismissed worker to their rightful position without any further delay. Their appointments were lawful; their dismissals were not,” she asserted.
Hajia Abdul-Aziz also warned that the Minority would pursue further action if the situation is not promptly resolved. She called for accountability from the Bank’s leadership, stating:
“The Governor of the Bank of Ghana must face Parliament and explain this heartless abuse of power. You are not above the law, and you must answer to the people.”
