The Mfantseman–Saltpond Development Alliance (MSDA) on Friday, October 17, 2025, officially launched the Sustainable Water Project for the Saltpond Municipal Hospital in the Mfantseman Municipality — a landmark initiative designed to provide a long-term and sustainable solution to the hospital’s recurring water challenges.
The project entails the drilling of underground water sources, installation of high-capacity storage tanks, and the deployment of a solar-powered pumping and electrical system seamlessly integrated into the hospital’s existing water network. This cutting-edge system is expected to deliver a steady, reliable, and environmentally friendly water supply, thereby improving healthcare delivery and eliminating service interruptions.
Speaking at the sod-cutting ceremony, Osagyefo Ernest Egyir De-Graft, President of MSDA, expressed profound appreciation to the members, donors, and partners of the Alliance for their unwavering support and generosity.
“This project is not just about water — it is about purpose, unity, and progress,” he remarked. “It reflects the power of community-driven development and the belief that when citizens take ownership, transformation is inevitable.”
The Sustainable Water Project forms part of MSDA’s broader mission to spearhead locally led, high-impact projects that address critical infrastructural and social needs across the Mfantseman Municipality.
MSDA reiterated its commitment to fostering sustainable healthcare, clean energy, and community development, while urging all sons, daughters, and friends of Saltpond to rally behind its ongoing initiatives.
“Together, we rebuild, reconnect, and rise,” the statement concluded — affirming the Alliance’s dedication to building a resilient and self-reliant Saltpond community.
