NIA Staff to Receive 20% Salary Arrears Starting January 2025

The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced that staff will begin receiving 20% salary arrears from January 2025. The arrears stem from adjustments under the public sector salary structure.

Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, June 18, the NIA’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Williams Ampomah Emmanuel Darlas, confirmed that the payment has been factored into the Authority’s 2025 budget and approved by both the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission and the Ministry of Finance.

Mr. Darlas assured staff that administrative processes are already underway to facilitate the payments.

“The Finance Ministry, led by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, acknowledged receipt of the letter yesterday and has promised to expedite all necessary procedures to forward it to the Controller and Accountant-General, ensuring that staff benefit from the 20% arrears dating back to January,” he stated.

He reiterated the Authority’s commitment to fulfilling the payment:
“I want to assure the staff of the National Identification Authority that their 20% will be paid.”
