The Nkusukum Obaatan Division has donated essential hospital equipment to two health facilities in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region, as part of its ongoing commitment to community development and social welfare.

The donated items, which include surgical and other critical medical equipment, were presented to Mercy Women’s Catholic Hospital in Mankessim and Jubilee Hospital at Krofo. The gesture is aimed at enhancing healthcare delivery and improving patient care at the two facilities.

Beyond healthcare support, the Obaatan Division of Nkusukum, led by Nana Beenyi III, has consistently extended assistance to vulnerable groups in society, including orphans, widows, and neglected children. The Division is known for its continuous humanitarian efforts within the community.

Speaking on behalf of Nana Beenyi III and the Obaatan Division, Nana Adwoa Esaawa I, who presented the items, emphasized that leadership is about service rather than self-glorification.

“As traditional leaders, our duty is to serve our people and not to lord over them. There are many underprivileged persons in our communities, and everyone must do the little they can to support them,” she stated.

In keeping with their annual tradition, the Obaatan Division also organized a New Year party for children, during which educational materials were distributed to support their academic development.

The Gyasehene of the Obaatan Division, Nana Amua I, expressed appreciation to Nana Adwoa Esaawa I for the kind gesture and appealed to the beneficiary hospitals to ensure the proper and effective use of the donated items to help save lives.

On behalf of Mercy Women’s Hospital, Madam Florence Addae of the maternity department expressed profound gratitude to Nana Adwoa Esaawa I and the Obaatan Division, noting that the equipment would significantly support their work. She also highlighted the need for additional items to further improve service delivery at the facility.
