October 8–11: Mankessim Paakesedo Nsona Royal Family Holds Final Funeral Rites for Obaapanyin Henrietta Ama Pokua Hawa Sam

The Paakesedo Nsona Royal Family of Mankessim, under the leadership of Omanhemaa Nana Araba Otua II of the Mankessim Traditional Area, has announced the final funeral rites for the late Obaapanyin Madam Henrietta Ama Pokua Hawa Sam, popularly known as Auntie Ama Hawa and also referred to as Badu-Anum.

The final funeral rites for the respected member of the Paakesedo Nsona Royal Family have been scheduled for Thursday, October 8, to Sunday, October 11, 2026, in Mankessim.

The late Obaapanyin Henrietta Ama Pokua Hawa Sam, who passed away at the age of 86, is being remembered by her family, relatives, friends and well-wishers for her life, service and contribution to the family and community.

The Paakesedo Nsona Royal Family of Mankessim extended an invitation to the general public, friends, sympathisers and well-wishers to join the family as they bid farewell to the late matriarch.

The funeral activities will begin with a pre-burial service in Accra before continuing in Mankessim for the private wake-keeping, burial service, interment and thanksgiving service.

Funeral Programme

Thursday, October 8, 2026 – Pre-Burial Service

The pre-burial service will be held at 8:30 a.m. at Calvary Methodist Church, Adabraka.

Dress Code: Black

Friday, October 9, 2026 – Private Wake-Keeping

A private wake-keeping will be held at the Ahenfie, Paakesedo, Mankessim.

Dress Code: Black

Saturday, October 10, 2026 – Burial Service

The burial service will take place at 9:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim.

The interment will follow at the Methodist Cemetery, Mankessim.

Dress Code: Black

Sunday, October 11, 2026 – Thanksgiving Service

A thanksgiving service will be held at 9:00 a.m. at Ebenezer Methodist Church, Mankessim.

Dress Code: Black and White

The Paakesedo Nsona Royal Family is calling on family members, friends, traditional leaders, sympathisers and the general public to join them in honouring the memory of the late Obaapanyin Madam Henrietta Ama Pokua Hawa Sam (Badu-Anum), popularly known as Auntie Ama Hawa, as the family observes her final funeral rites.
