President John Mahama joined the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and thousands of Muslims at the Black Star Square on Friday, March 20, to mark Eid al-Fitr, celebrating the end of Ramadan.

In his address, the President called on Ghanaians to carry forward the values of Ramadan, self-discipline, compassion, and generosity into daily life, stating that the spirit of the holy month should guide how people treat one another and serve their communities.

He also highlighted Ghana’s peaceful coexistence, noting that Muslims and Christians celebrate each other’s holy days and participate in each other’s ceremonies, describing the nation’s diversity of faith and culture as a strength to be protected.

President Mahama extended prayers for peace globally, particularly urging leaders in the Middle East conflict to choose dialogue over war, while reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to justice, harmony, and inclusive development.
