President Mahama Appoints Prof Francis Otoo As Acting Director-General Of Nuclear Regulatory Authority

 

President John Mahama has appointed Professor Francis Otoo, Chief Research Scientist at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission, as the Acting Director-General of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority (NRA).

The appointment was made pursuant to Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 15(1) of the Nuclear Regulatory Authority Act, 2015 (Act 895).

This was announced in a letter signed by the Secretary to the President, Callistus Mahama. According to the statement, the appointment is pending the constitutionally required advice from the Governing Board of the Authority and the Public Services Commission.

“I take this opportunity to congratulate you on your appointment,” the letter stated, requesting Professor Otoo to confirm his acceptance within seven days of receiving the correspondence.
