President Mahama’s Government Hasn’t Achieved Much In Five Months – Ahiagbah Claims

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party, Richard Ahiagbah

The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has criticized the Mahama-led administration, alleging a lack of tangible progress since it took office five months ago.

Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on May 22, 2025, Ahiagbah claimed that the government has so far focused more on rhetoric than real action.

“Mahama’s government in five months is just speaking English and has not done anything yet,” he remarked.

Ahiagbah also dismissed the recent appreciation of the Ghana cedi as inconsequential if it doesn’t result in meaningful improvements in people’s lives.

“If the cedi appreciates but there are no jobs and we can’t feel the impact in our pockets, then it’s nothing,” he argued.

He called on the government to prioritize policies that promote sustainable economic growth and job creation.

“I want to see a growth-led policy that will yield results. They have not proven anything yet,” he added.

The comments form part of a growing debate over the current government’s performance as the opposition seeks to challenge its record on economic management and development delivery.
