
Former Member of Parliament for Bortianor-Ngleshie Amanfro, Sylvester Tetteh, has officially announced his intention to contest the position of General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) ahead of the party’s next national executive elections.
Speaking in a live interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, the former Deputy Minister for Information expressed his readiness to bring bold, innovative, and tech-driven leadership to the party as it gears up for the 2028 general elections.
“The NPP needs innovation, energy, and unity – and I am ready to serve,” he declared.
Outlining his vision for the party, Mr. Tetteh said the time had come to inject fresh energy, strategic thinking, and modern solutions into the NPP’s administrative leadership. He emphasized the importance of repositioning the party for electoral victory in 2028 and beyond.
“I have made up my mind to contest for the General Secretary position of our great party. The time has come to bring new energy, innovative ideas, and strategic thinking into our leadership,” he stated.
A former Chief Executive Officer of the National Youth Authority, Mr. Tetteh underscored the need for a strong and united party built on effective communication, grassroots mobilisation, and active youth engagement. He also highlighted the role of digital tools and data-driven strategies in strengthening the party’s organisational capacity across all regions.
Mr. Tetteh’s declaration marks a significant moment in the NPP’s internal build-up as it begins early preparations for the 2028 general elections.
