The Ankobeahen of the Abeadze Traditional Area, Nana Antwi Boasiako III, has appealed to Ghanaians to extend compassion and practical support to the poor and needy in society, especially during the Christmas festivities.

According to Nana Antwi Boasiako III, while the festive season is marked by abundance—characterised by food, drink and celebration—many vulnerable people continue to suffer deprivation and hunger. He noted that it is disheartening that excess food is often wasted during Christmas while others struggle to meet their basic needs.

The chief made these remarks during the Boa Onnibi programme by Kingdom FM in Mankessim, where he appeared as a special guest. He called on individuals, organisations and benevolent groups to donate cash or items to help bring relief and joy to the less privileged.

He further explained that beyond immediate relief, the initiative also seeks to empower beneficiaries by providing them with tools and items that can help them start small businesses and become self-reliant.

Adding his voice, the Head Pastor of Christ Awareness, Pastor Eric Nkrumah, advised beneficiaries to make good use of the items given to them for their intended purposes. He also encouraged churches and congregations to prioritise support for the needy, particularly widows and vulnerable members, as part of their Christian responsibility.

The General Manager of Kingdom FM and initiator of the Boa Onnibi initiative, Lawyer Adu Gyamfi Marfo, highlighted the foundation’s ongoing and future activities aimed at supporting disadvantaged people in society. He reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to charity, empowerment and community development.

Beneficiaries of the Kingdom FM Boa Onnibi Foundation expressed heartfelt gratitude, describing the support received as timely and life-changing, and thanked the organisers and donors for putting smiles on their faces during the festive season.

The event underscored the importance of collective responsibility and compassion in addressing poverty and promoting social welfare, especially during periods of celebration.
