Nii Baah Afful, the man caught on camera brutally assaulting a young woman carrying a baby, has been arrested by the Greater Accra Regional Police Command. The disturbing footage, which went viral, showed Afful repeatedly striking the woman with a stick after she ended their relationship, citing that she had found someone “more handsome and responsible.”
The public was outraged, and advocacy groups, along with concerned citizens, demanded swift action, calling on law enforcement to ensure justice is served. In response, the police confirmed that Afful is in custody and cooperating with investigations.
According to the police statement, “The suspect, Nii Baah Afful, is currently in police custody, assisting the investigations, and will be put before the court to face justice”.
Authorities have assured the public that the case will be handled urgently to bring Afful to justice.
