Extension of Electricity: “I Will Ensure Every Community in My District Benefits” – Sekyere Central DCE

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Sekyere Central, Hon. Samuel Somuah, on Tuesday, June 25, 2025, embarked on a monitoring tour of the Asubuasu and Domi No. 1 electoral areas to inspect progress on the ongoing rural electrification project in communities within the Afram Plains.
As part of the visit, Hon. Somuah also toured Asaasebonso, Nyamebekyere, Atta Akuraa No. 1 and No. 2, and Tema Food Complex communities.
During interactions with traditional leaders and residents, the DCE reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to completing the electrification project. He assured the communities that the contractor, China International Water and Electric Corporation—working under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy—is on schedule to finish the project by the end of the year.
Hon. Somuah encouraged community members to cooperate with engineers on the ground by offering a welcoming environment and necessary support to facilitate timely delivery. He also announced future plans to address pressing issues such as water scarcity and poor road infrastructure in the area.
In his closing remarks, the DCE pledged to lobby for the inclusion of additional communities that were left out of the initial electrification contract, highlighting the government’s dedication to equitable development across the district.
