A 54-year-old man has reportedly died under mysterious circumstances while visiting a public toilet facility at Edumadze, a suburb of Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

The deceased, identified through his Ghana Card as Alex Asante, is said to have collapsed while attending to nature’s call at the facility. Eyewitnesses indicate that Mr Asante suddenly fell to the ground and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Items found on him included an Android phone (Infinix Hot 2), a Samsung keypad mobile phone, and some medication believed to have been purchased from a licensed chemical shop.

Residents who gathered at the scene expressed shock and disbelief over the sudden incident, describing the development as both tragic and disturbing. Some community members said the deceased appeared normal moments before the incident and showed no visible signs of distress.

The body has since been conveyed for further examination, while authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident to determine the exact cause of death.

The incident has left the Edumadze community in a state of mourning and renewed discussions about public health emergencies and the need for prompt medical response systems in public spaces.
