Police Arrest Three More Suspects in Murder Case of Indian National in Ghana

The Ghana Police Service has arrested three additional suspects in connection with the murder of Indian national, Devendra Singh, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to four.

The deceased had earlier been reported missing, prompting police to launch investigations and efforts to trace his whereabouts.

Police said a major breakthrough came on April 25, 2026, at about 2:00 p.m., when officers received information that the victim’s vehicle had been found abandoned on the outskirts of Sabin Akrofuom near Royal Lemosey Hospital.

A team dispatched to the scene discovered the vehicle parked by the roadside. Upon inspection, officers found the lifeless body of Devendra Singh in the boot of the car with multiple stab wounds.

Addressing the press on Friday, May 8, Director of Public Affairs of the Ghana Police Service, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi, disclosed that police intelligence operations conducted on April 29 and 30 led to the arrest of three additional suspects identified as Osman Moro, also known as Tiago, 20, Hakim Kudjoe Jnr, and Moro Sulley, alias Moro Aboboyaa.

She explained that the latest arrests followed the earlier apprehension of suspect John Adokpo, also known as Peter.

According to the police, Hakim Kudjoe Jnr admitted his involvement in the crime and told investigators that on April 24, he went to the deceased’s workplace and replaced the CCTV camera server with the assistance of suspect Moro Sulley. He subsequently led police to the location where the CCTV server was retrieved.

Police further disclosed that Hakim Kudjoe Jnr confessed to taking the deceased’s iPhone 17 Pro Max and a Tecno mobile phone after the murder. He allegedly handed the iPhone to Osman Moro at Kaase and gave the Tecno phone to Moro Sulley.

Osman Moro later led officers to a nearby bush where the iPhone was recovered. The device had been wrapped in a brown envelope and buried in a hole covered with leaves.

ACP Ansah-Akrofi said Moro Sulley was identified as the individual who assisted in replacing the CCTV server at the deceased’s workplace.

She added that suspect John Adokpo admitted to driving the deceased’s vehicle to the location where it was eventually discovered.

“All the suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while efforts are ongoing to arrest two other persons believed to be connected to the case,” she stated.
