
Thousands of mourners from across Ghana and beyond converged on Anomabo in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region to pay their final respects to the late Kantamanto Amoanu XI, the revered Omanhen of the Anomabo Traditional Area, during his final funeral rites.
The solemn yet culturally rich ceremony drew traditional rulers, government officials, politicians, religious leaders, members of the diplomatic community, and sons and daughters of Anomabo from across the world, all united to honour the memory of the late paramount chief for his distinguished service to his people and the nation.

The funeral grounds were filled with colourful displays of Ghanaian tradition as chiefs and queen mothers, adorned in black and red traditional regalia, joined thousands of mourners to bid a final farewell to the respected traditional leader. Cultural performances, traditional rites, and tributes reflected the immense respect and admiration the late Omanhen commanded throughout his reign.
Kantamanto Amoanu XI was widely celebrated for his commitment to peace, unity, cultural preservation, and the socio-economic development of the Anomabo Traditional Area. Throughout his leadership, he championed initiatives aimed at improving education, community development, and the welfare of his people while safeguarding the rich customs and traditions of the area.

The final funeral rites also served as a reunion for natives of Anomabo living both in Ghana and abroad, many of whom travelled long distances to honour the late paramount chief and celebrate his enduring legacy.
As traditional rites concluded, speakers paid glowing tributes to the late Omanhen, describing him as a visionary, unifier, and an exemplary custodian of Ghana’s cultural heritage whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
The ceremony marked the end of an era for the Anomabo Traditional Area, with many mourners expressing gratitude for the late Kantamanto Amoanu XI’s selfless leadership while praying for his peaceful rest and the continued progress of the traditional area he served with distinction.
