The Embassy of Ghana in Tokyo, Japan, has announced that it will be closed on Monday, July 20, 2026, in observance of Japan’s Marine Day (Umi no Hi), a national public holiday.
In a public notice, the Embassy informed the general public that all consular and administrative services would be suspended for the day. Normal business operations are expected to resume on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

The Embassy apologised for any inconvenience the temporary closure may cause and urged the public to plan their visits accordingly and take note of the revised schedule for consular and other official services.
Marine Day, known locally as Umi no Hi, is one of Japan’s national holidays. It is observed annually to celebrate the country’s close relationship with the sea, while recognising the ocean’s vital contribution to Japan’s economy, culture and national development.
The Embassy encouraged members of the public requiring its services to schedule their visits after the holiday when regular operations resume.
