Avoid Examination Malpractice – Education Minister Cautions BECE Candidates

Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged candidates sitting for this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) to uphold integrity and avoid all forms of examination malpractice.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Wednesday, June 11, Mr. Iddrisu encouraged students to remain calm, focused, and disciplined as they begin their exams.

“On behalf of the government of Ghana, I extend warm wishes and heartfelt encouragement to all candidates. I urge them to stay focused and determined, and to avoid any form of examination malpractice,” he stated.

The Minister, who is currently touring examination centres across the country, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring a fair and smooth examination process. He also assured the public of continued investments in educational infrastructure to minimise future disruptions.

This year’s BECE commenced today and will conclude on Tuesday, June 17.

A total of 603,328 candidates are participating, comprising 297,250 males and 306,078 females. The Ashanti Region recorded the highest number of candidates with 119,354, followed by Greater Accra with 111,700, and the Central Region with 67,146.
