John Boadu has been elected National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at the party’s National Delegates Conference.
Mr Boadu secured 2,888 votes to emerge as the party’s new National Chairman, taking charge of the NPP’s national administration alongside a newly elected team of executives.
Justin Frimpong Kodua retained his position as General Secretary, securing 4,486 votes.
Daniel Titus Glover was elected National Organiser with 2,964 votes, while Alfred Kwajo Thompson won the National Treasurer position with 2,243 votes.
Three National Vice Chairpersons were also elected from a field of 13 candidates.
Kojo Fosu Bwedu was elected First Vice Chairman, Henry Nana Boakye emerged as Second Vice Chairman, while Nana Akomea was elected Third Vice Chairman.
Dennis Edward Miracles Aboagye was elected National Communications Director unopposed.
Special wing positions
In the party’s special wing elections, Abanga Yakubu Fuseni emerged as National Youth Organiser, while Hawa Koomson was elected National Women’s Organiser.
Mohammed Ali Suraj won the National Nasara Organiser position with 372 votes.
He was followed by Salim Mansuru Bamba, who polled 311 votes, and Awal Mohammed, who secured 106 votes.
The election has produced a new national executive line-up tasked with leading the NPP’s organisational, administrative and political affairs as the party prepares for the next phase of its political activities.
The emergence of Mr Boadu as National Chairman is particularly notable, as he returns to a senior national leadership position alongside Mr Kodua, who defeated him in the contest for General Secretary at the NPP’s 2022 National Delegates Conference.
The newly elected executives are expected to assume responsibility for strengthening the party’s structures, coordinating its national administration and positioning the NPP for its future political engagements.
