More Data, Same Price: Bundle Boosts Begin July 1

The Minister for Communications, Samuel George, has announced significant increases in data bundle allocations across all telecommunication networks in Ghana, effective July 1, 2025.

Speaking at a press conference in Accra on Monday, the Minister said the changes follow successful negotiations with telecom operators to improve data affordability and accessibility.

“I am pleased to announce that my engagement with the CEOs has resulted in the following specific measures,” Mr. George stated.

Updated Data Bundle Allocations by Network:

1. AirtelTigo Ghana (AT Ghana):

  • 10% increase across all data bundles
  • GH₵400 bundle upgraded from 195GB to 236GB

2. Telecel Ghana:

  • 10% increase across all data bundles
  • GH₵400 bundle increased from 90GB to 250GB

3. MTN Ghana:

  • 15% increase across all data bundles
  • Restoration of GH₵399 bundle offering 214GB (previously changed to GH₵350 for 92.88GB)

Mr. George acknowledged the financial implications for telecom providers, saying, “I am aware these increases will come at considerable cost to the network operators. However, I am glad that our engagements and consultations are bearing fruit for the Ghanaian people.”

He also extended appreciation to the CEOs of the telecom companies for their cooperation, describing the outcome as a testament to strengthened collaboration between the government and the communications industry.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to enhance digital inclusion, affordability, and value for money in Ghana’s telecom sector.
